Exactly one year ago our JFO team was just beginning to discuss the implementation of CarePortal here in the Capital Region of up-state NY.  We spent the spring learning about this technology platform that connects child welfare workers with churches for the purpose of meeting the needs of and ministering to local children and families in crisis.  God opened the door to the very first county when a supervisor from Schenectady County Office of Children and Family Services reached out asking us to bring CarePortal to Schenectady.  With that door open, over the summer months we connected with area churches to begin building the necessary network of churches to launch CarePortal locally.  We officially launched CarePortal on November 8, 2018, and celebrated with a launch event as the very first request entered into the system was met by a local church.

Today we are celebrating all God has done this past year as CarePortal is up and running and the network is growing throughout the Capital District.  Presently we have 12 active churches receiving requests from Schenectady County, 2 new churches enrolled and waiting to attend orientation, and 4 churches planning to enroll in January.  Most importantly, we are celebrating the 20+ local children served by the local church through CarePortal.  The body of Christ has truly been the hands and feet of Jesus to local vulnerable children and their families as these needs that were met actually kept the children out of foster care - and that is something to truly celebrate!

We are so thankful that the Lord led JFO to launch CarePortal here in NY, and we’re thankful for the churches that are serving the children in their communities, and for those who have donated funds to help JFO take this huge step.  We have logged in countless volunteer hours to implement CarePortal and as we enter into 2019 we will continue to manage and grow the network.  To do this we need your help.  First and foremost we need the funding to utilize and grow the network, next we need favor to expand the platform into the next county, and lastly we need feet - volunteers from local enrolled churches and volunteers to help JFO with administrative and fundraising initiatives.

As we celebrate what God has done in 2018 and anticipate what He will do in 2019 we ask you to consider the following:

-making a tax deductible gift to Justice For Orphans for our CarePortal network

-becoming a monthly partner by investing in JFO with a recurring monthly gift of $25, $50 or $100

-praying for our team and the expansion of the CarePortal ministry

-enrolling your church into our CarePortal network

-becoming a JFO volunteer

Our Justice For Orphans team thanks you for your consideration and we pray that each of you will have a blessed and prosperous 2019.  Happy New Year!
