We Saved YOU a Seat!
JFO is gathering church leaders from Albany and Schenectady counties who are interested in partnering with us to launch CarePortal in the Capital Region. CarePortal is an online technology platform that brings the needs of children and families in your community to your attention. Child welfare workers uncover the real needs. CarePortal makes local participating churches aware of the needs, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond.
CarePortal is already operating in 16 states where 1,600 churches have served over 27,000 US children having an economic impact of over $10 million nationwide! Recently we spoke with Jenelle Shelton, Regional Manager for CarePortal in Ohio. Janelle shared numerous testimonies of impact by the churches in her county serving vulnerable children and families. Like the story of the foster teen who needed dentures. Due to childhood neglect the boy's teeth needed to be pulled. Two weeks before school started a dentist pulled the teeth but funds only covered a top set of dentures as the bottom set was considered cosmetic. Without bottom teeth the teen refused to go to school. That's when CarePortal was activated and a local church provided the $350 needed for the bottom dentures. The young man has since graduated from high school. You can hear more CarePortal stories of impact by listening to our conversation with Janelle on our Orphans No More podcast.
